A healthy 36-year-old woman cannot have a heart attack. The complete exhaustion I have been experiencing recently is just because my family keeps me running. The anxious feelings I cannot seem to get over have to be related to stress; I should do a better job of managing my emotions.
For any woman that has experienced any of these symptoms or others, such as a racing heart, it is imperative that you do not allow warning signs to go untreated. These could all be signs of Atrial Fibrillation, also called A-Fib, a condition in which your heart beats more rapidly than normal. A-Fib is the most common heart rhythm disorder in America, affecting over 2 million people each year.
Atrial Fibrillation results from abnormal electrical impulses in the heart. The irregularity can be continuous or come and go. In a person with a normal heart rate and rhythm, the heart beats 50-100 times per minute. If the heart beats more than 100 times per minute, the rate is considered fast. Less than 50 times per minute, it is considered slow. A-Fib causes heart beats or atrial contractions to be disorganized, chaotic, and very rapid; the atria may contract at a rate of 400-600 times per minute
